OUR LADY OF HOPE OF PONTMAIN

France January 17, 1871

"Pray, My children! God will answer you in a little time. My Son is letting Himself be touched." This was the Blessed Virgin’s message of hope at Pontmain. Six children contemplated the Virgin in the sky who was sometimes joyful, sometimes sad. It was a dark moment: the Prussian Army had invaded France, and the faithful had turned to Heaven in their distress. God was particularly moved by the great fervor of the people in Pontmain, and the Franco-Prussian War suddenly ended ten days after the heavenly apparition. Our Lady had kept Her promise.
