MSGR. LOUIS-GASTON DE SÉGUR, an extraordinary apostle and spiritual director, was the author of many works in view of popularizing the truths of the Faith.  In love with God and souls, he especially taught the practice of the interior life, love of the Blessed Sacrament and devotion to the blessed Virgin Mary.  The most admirable thing about him is surely the fact that he exercised all this zeal under very difficult conditions, having totally lost his eyesight at the age of thirty-three.  He received this crucifying infirmity as a favor from Heaven, and it impelled him to intensify the spiritual activity of his great priestly soul.
