Our cover: The Nativity of our Saviour
The prophet Isaiah, beholding in spirit the mystery of the Crib, cried out in his ecstasy: A Child is born unto us! Let us, in our turn, contemplate the Divine Infant of Bethlehem. This Child is the Son of the Most High — Love made flesh. And why does He appear to us beneath the veil of infancy? It is that He may win our hearts, not compel them by fear. A child gives all, forgives all, forgets all; nothing is more winning, nothing more lovable. He smiles upon us from His Mother’s bosom; He awakens our trust and draws us gently to Himself. Could His sweetness, His simplicity, His tender caresses, His divine condescensions fail to conquer our hearts?
