About us
For 60 years, Editions Magnificat has been operated by the Religious Brothers and Sisters of the Order of the Mother of God, at their Motherhouse located at the Monastery of the Apostles in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Canada.
The particular mission of the Order of the Magnificat of the Mother of God is to preserve the Deposit of Faith through religious education in all its forms. It is with this purpose that we operate Editions Magnificat Publications.
Editions Magnificat
Since its inception, a small print shop was established and has continually modernized and expanded. Today, several presses and other printing and binding equipment are in operation to carry out various religious projects.
This extensive range of equipment comes primarily from generous donors or companies that provide us with their used presses and machines at very advantageous prices.
The installation, restoration, and optimization of these machines often require a great deal of time, effort, and ingenuity, but the results speak for themselves: each year, numerous publications are printed at the Monastery, totaling several thousand copies, including:
- a monthly Magazine: Magnificat, published in French and in English
- a religious Calendar printed in four languages (French, English, Spanish, Italian)
- pictures of Jesus, Mary, the Saints, Bible scenes — most of these from paintings by our own artists
- various books, brochures or flyers, also published in several languages
- Holy Scripture, biographies, spirituality, Catholic Christian doctrine, catechisms, conferences, prayer books, etc.
Composition, illustrations, translations, layout, plate preparation, each stage of printing and assembly: everything is entirely completed by members of the Order and produced in the Monastery. We generally do our own bookbinding, although some generous benefactors do furnish bookbinding of superior quality at modest prices or free of charge.
